Can I use this to prove a student used AI?
No. No AI detector can prove authorship. Results are an estimate and should only prompt further review — such as looking at drafts, revision history, or discussing the work with the student.
Why might a student's own writing be flagged?
Clear, formal and consistent writing — often what students are taught — shares traits with AI output. Multilingual writers and writers using grammar tools are especially likely to see elevated scores.
